FireBox Studios was chosen to completely redesign the Hocking Hills Tourism Association's web site at 1800hocking.com.
The new site features enhanced search capabilities and options for more
advanced trip planning, including detailed tours and special interest
itineraries.
Designed to make planning a visit to southeast Ohio’s spectacular
Hocking Hills simple, www.1800HOCKING.com offers links to
accommodations, attractions, shops and more. Guests can check
availability for hundreds of area lodging options and access website
links for attractions, accommodations and special events and festivals,
as well as the area’s state and national forests and the six areas
within Hocking Hills State Park.
The primary challenge FireBox faced was the large amount of data
that would need to be integrated into the site, yet be easily
accessible for visitors. For example, they had almost 400 member
records, each with up to 60 database attributes apiece! We were able to
import all their data into our proprietary content management software
and make it available in multiple ways on the site.
For example, a visitor can choose to view member listings by
categories and subcategories and alphabetically, backwards or forwards.
A custom lodging search also allows visitors to find places to stay
that have the exact amenities and features they are looking for, such
as hot tubs, in-room internet and fireplaces.
Other features include a calendar of events, news articles, local
weather, lodging availability search, site-wide keyword search and
photo gallery.
“The new website is a great resource for travelers,” said Randie
Adam, Executive Director for Hocking Hills Tourism Association.
“Visitors visit the site to research and plan their visit to the
Hocking Hills, including making reservations and requesting more
information – all with one stop.”
A wide variety of accommodations, from rustic camping and cabins to
luxurious cottages, hotels and country inns, give visitors to the
Hocking Hills plenty of truly affordable lodging options. In addition
to numerous hiking trails, parks and forests, the Hocking Hills area
offers unique galleries, boutiques and gift and antique shops,
canoeing, horseback riding, golf and dozens of other activities.
For more information on accommodations and the many sites in Hocking County, consumers can visit the new site at www.1800HOCKING.com.
